Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Technology and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS), which rose 6.31% or 0.260 points to trade at 4.380 at the close. ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) added 4.10% or 0.220 points to end at 5.590 and Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) was up 3.08% or 0.300 points to 10.050 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY), which lost 4.53% or 1.38 points to trade at 29.08 in late trade. Nurol Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:NUGYO) declined 3.37% or 0.170 points to end at 4.880 and SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) shed 2.51% or 0.180 points to 7.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 199 to 135 and 72 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.21% or 2.61 to $1246.11 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.78% or 0.34 to hit $43.17 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.93% or 0.43 to trade at $45.59 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.49% to 3.5274, while EUR/TRY fell 0.43% to 3.9313.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 97.38.
