Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Transport and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.91% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL), which rose 7.11% or 1.06 points to trade at 15.96 at the close. Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) added 6.22% or 1.48 points to end at 25.26 and Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) was up 6.06% or 1.20 points to 21.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Borusan Mannesmann Boru Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BRSAN), which lost 5.86% or 0.62 points to trade at 9.96 in late trade. Alcatel Lucent Teletas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:ALCTL) declined 5.32% or 0.500 points to end at 8.900 and Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO) shed 3.27% or 0.110 points to 3.250.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 189 to 159 and 55 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.49% or 5.95 to $1222.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.49% or 1.60 to hit $47.48 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.18% or 1.55 to trade at $50.28 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.12% to 3.5833, while EUR/TRY fell 1.15% to 3.8964.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 99.45.
