Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Sports, Technology and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.97%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which rose 6.93% or 0.16 points to trade at 2.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 4.55% or 0.010 points to end at 0.230 and Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) was up 3.94% or 1.52 points to 40.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Is Gmyo (IS:ISGYO), which fell 2.27% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.720 at the close. Otokar (IS:OTKAR) declined 2.02% or 2.00 points to end at 97.00 and Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN) was down 1.81% or 0.030 points to 1.630.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 225 to 174 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.99% or 10.80 to $1085.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 2.77% or 0.87 to hit $30.54 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 2.63% or 0.84 to trade at $31.04 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.05% to 3.0368, while EUR/TRY fell 0.35% to 3.2884.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.35% at 99.26.
