Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Services and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR), which rose 24.88% or 249.00 points to trade at 1250.00 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 20.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.6000 and Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) was up 11.30% or 33.90 points to 334.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which lost 16.67% or 0.200 points to trade at 1.000 in late trade. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) declined 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Sinhaputhra Finance PLC (CM:SFL) shed 13.61% or 2.00 points to 12.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 74 to 70 and 34 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.39% or 0.21 to $53.15 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.54% or 0.30 to hit $55.35 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.12% or 1.55 to trade at $1243.15 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.05% to 188.100, while USD/LKR rose 0.13% to 150.900.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 100.64.
