Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Caixabank SA (MC:CABK), which rose 3.35% or 0.135 points to trade at 4.169 at the close. Acciona (MC:ANA) added 2.23% or 1.650 points to end at 75.740 and Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) was up 1.96% or 0.139 points to 7.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mapfre (MC:MAP), which lost 2.94% or 0.097 points to trade at 3.204 in late trade. Indra A (MC:IDR) declined 1.87% or 0.240 points to end at 12.585 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) shed 1.72% or 0.635 points to 36.350.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 103 to 67 and 12 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.15% or 1.91 to $1267.81 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $49.00 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $51.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0897, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8416.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 98.89.
