Shree Minerals Ltd (ASX:SHH) has kicked off an aircore drilling program testing for lithium pegmatites and gold at the Dundas Project in the Albany Fraser Orogen of Western Australia’s south.
The program comprises about 98 holes for 5,000 to 6,000 metres and is being carried out in the southern portion of tenement E63/2046.
Heritage survey
Shree also has a heritage survey in progress at tenement E63/2048.
This will progress plans for infill of the historical 1-kilometre spaced soil sample traverses with a powered auger to define and prioritise targets for rotary air blast (RAB) and reverse circulation (RC) drilling.

In prolific region
These two exploration licences are interpreted to occur along strike of the well-endowed Boulder Lefroy Fault Zone (BLFZ) and the Zuleika Shear (ZS).
World-class lithium in pegmatite deposits are spatially related to these mineralised structures and occur to the north of Shree’s tenure.
As well as location, prompting Shree to undertake the work programs is the recording of pegmatites from historical drill logs proximal to these structures within E63/2046.
Recent mapping by the company has identified historical drill hole spoils containing pegmatite chips.
On the gold front, historical drilling intersections up to 3 g/t gold remain open and the associated soil geochemistry suggests the mineralisation is much more extensive than indicated by drilling.
