Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 1.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Valmt (HE:VALMT), which rose 3.20% or 0.37 points to trade at 11.95 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 3.04% or 0.1600 points to end at 5.4150 and Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V) was up 3.02% or 0.83 points to 28.28 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which added 0.09% or 0.03 points to trade at 35.24 in late trade. Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV) added 0.10% or 0.04 points to end at 39.91 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) gained 0.26% or 0.08 points to 31.42.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 134 to 52 and 8 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.91% or 0.95 to $50.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.89% or 1.35 to hit $48.14 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.50% or 6.75 to trade at $1355.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1334, while EUR/GBP fell 0.38% to 0.8627.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 94.28.
