Orthocell Ltd (ASX:OCC, OTC:ORHHF), a regenerative medicine company based in Australia, has officially handed over the reins to chair John Van Der Wielen, as founding board member and former chair Dr Stewart Washer retires from the company’s board.
Dr Washer has completed the transition from his role as long-standing chair having made the decision to retire after almost 10 years of service to the company, to allow him to pursue other interests.
Drove early success
“Stewart’s commitment to the success of Orthocell in the early phase of the company was commendable and I am so appreciative of his assistance in my early days as incoming chair of the Orthocell board,” Orthocell chair John van der Wielen said.
“I sincerely wish Stewart all the best in his future endeavours.”
Orthocell CEO Paul Anderson stated that Dr Washer was pivotal to the successful IPO of Orthocell back in 2014 and his contribution to Orthocell’s transition from early phase R&D company to a commercial success is greatly appreciated.
The OCC board now consists of five directors – one executive director, and four non-executive members.
The company says the recent appointment of Professor Fiona Wood, independent non-executive director Dr Ravi Thadhani and chair John Van Der Wielen to the Orthocell board, has strengthened the leadership team as the company prepares for the next phase of development and commercialisation of its unique medical devices and cellular therapies.
