Novo Resources Corp (TSX:NVO, OTCQX:NSRPF, ASX:NVO) has released its Sustainability Report for 2023, demonstrating its commitment to sustainability despite the business strategy moving from production to exploration.
Novo is exploring and developing approximately 9,000 square kilometres in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, along with the 22 square kilometre Belltopper project in the Bendigo Tectonic Zone of Victoria.
The company says local communities and traditional owners continue to be integral to its success.
Sustainability highlights
Throughout the year, Novo released its inaugural Sustainability Statement and contributed in excess of $190,000 to community programs.
It also reduced emissions for its Scope 1 and 2 GHG by 34,862 tCO2e (Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions have reduced due to the cessation of Nullagine Gold Project Operations).
In a nod to its commitment to sustainability, the company took out the Gold Industry Group Award for Company of the Year 2022 as part of the National Gold Education Program.
Novo executive co-chairman and acting CEO Mike Spreadborough said, “This year we formalised our community investment strategy through the development of a Social Investment Policy and Procedure.
“Collectively these documents will guide us as we continue to make meaningful investments in the communities in which we operate.
“In the year to come, we will continue to listen to our stakeholders and support our people and communities, with a focus on minimising risk and maximising opportunities.
