Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Banking, Financials & Insurance and Land & Property sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.36%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Orient Finance PLC (CM:ORIT) added 19.53% or 2.50 points to end at 15.30 and Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) was up 14.68% or 253.40 points to 1980.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which lost 20.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.400 in late trade. Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) declined 14.85% or 4.50 points to end at 25.80 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) shed 7.69% or 0.100 points to 1.200.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 105 to 81 and 53 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.30% or 0.16 to $52.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $58.37 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.27% or 3.45 to trade at $1274.85 a troy ounce.

GBP/LKR was up 0.79% to 203.430, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 153.840.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 93.70.
