Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aegon (AS:AEGN), which rose 1.08% or 0.040 points to trade at 3.710 at the close. Heineken (AS:HEIN) added 1.03% or 0.80 points to end at 78.73 and Randstad (AS:RAND) was up 0.99% or 0.42 points to 42.67 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ASML Holding (AS:ASML), which lost 3.03% or 2.92 points to trade at 93.60 in late trade. Relx NV (AS:RELN) declined 2.08% or 0.320 points to end at 15.070 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) shed 1.94% or 0.113 points to 5.707.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 111 to 62 and 15 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.12% to 17.86.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.15% or 0.59 to $50.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.30% or 0.69 to hit $52.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.15% or 1.85 to trade at $1258.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.68% to 1.1060, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.9060.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.67% at 97.56.
