Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 2.03% or 0.144 points to trade at 7.243 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 1.39% or 0.33 points to end at 24.10 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) was up 1.36% or 1.08 points to 80.28 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gemalto (AS:GTO), which lost 7.18% or 3.98 points to trade at 51.42 in late trade. KPN Kon (AS:KPN) declined 2.46% or 0.067 points to end at 2.655 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) shed 0.85% or 0.34 points to 38.99.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 72 to 52 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.55% to 13.07.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.06% or 0.03 to $49.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $51.84 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 1.89 to trade at $1267.79 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0897, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8416.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 98.89.
