Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.41% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding (AS:ASML), which rose 1.71% or 1.51 points to trade at 89.78 at the close. NN Group (AS:NN) added 1.57% or 0.45 points to end at 29.15 and Ahold Kon (AS:AHLN) was up 1.27% or 0.25 points to 19.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO), which lost 2.31% or 1.47 points to trade at 62.17 in late trade. Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) declined 1.66% or 0.56 points to end at 33.10 and Vopak (AS:VOPA) shed 1.30% or 0.62 points to 46.92.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 89 to 76 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.54% to 18.22 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.53% or 0.26 to $49.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.79% or 0.39 to hit $49.20 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.56% or 6.85 to trade at $1213.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.1135, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.7611.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.40% at 95.52.
