Investing.com – Morocco equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Chemicals and Forestry & Paper sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares rose 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Stokvis Nord Afrique (CS:SNA), which rose 5.99% or 1.41 points to trade at 24.92 at the close. Total Maroc SA (CS:TMA) added 5.96% or 48.7 points to end at 864.7 and IB Maroc Com SA (CS:IBC) was up 4.76% or 6.55 points to 143.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cartier Saada (CS:CRS), which lost 5.26% or 1.00 points to trade at 18.00 in late trade. SMI (CS:SMI) declined 4.44% or 120 points to end at 2580 and Delattre Levivier Maroc (CS:DLM) shed 4.32% or 8.00 points to 177.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 17 and 7 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.90% or 0.87 to $44.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.70% or 0.80 to hit $46.37 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.82% or 10.85 to trade at $1330.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.18% to 10.8330, while USD/MAD rose 0.00% to 9.8521.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 97.05.
