Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 1.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA), which rose 4.98% or 2.380 points to trade at 50.190 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) added 4.57% or 1.510 points to end at 34.500 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was up 4.40% or 1.95 points to 46.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB), which lost 2.24% or 5.780 points to trade at 251.980 in late trade. Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) declined 1.23% or 0.050 points to end at 4.020 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) shed 0.71% or 1.140 points to 159.370.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 115 to 55 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 1.41% or 17.40 to $1252.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.11% or 1.28 to hit $42.47 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 2.59% or 1.11 to trade at $44.02 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.74% to 17.3088, while EUR/MXN fell 0.28% to 19.6690.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 94.04.
