Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 7.53% or 1.960 points to trade at 28.040 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 5.79% or 12.690 points to end at 232.500 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was up 3.50% or 1.180 points to 34.960 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB), which lost 3.53% or 9.590 points to trade at 261.880 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) declined 3.25% or 5.250 points to end at 156.280 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) shed 2.24% or 2.290 points to 99.880.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 97 to 71 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.09% or 1.10 to $1256.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 3.94% or 1.59 to hit $41.95 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 3.81% or 1.63 to trade at $44.46 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.94% to 17.4774, while EUR/MXN fell 1.12% to 19.8995.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 94.03.
