Mexico shares higher at close of trade; IPC up 0.03%

Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services, Consumer Goods & Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.03%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 2.81% or 3.380 points to trade at 123.550 at the close. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) added 1.85% or 0.580 points to end at 31.900 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) was up 1.48% or 3.870 points to 264.930 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB), which lost 2.39% or 6.370 points to trade at 260.160 in late trade. Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) declined 2.00% or 1.950 points to end at 95.350 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) shed 1.65% or 0.500 points to 29.890.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 105 to 67 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.26% or 3.25 to $1264.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.83% or 0.42 to hit $50.43 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.39 to trade at $51.39 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.34% to 18.5420, while EUR/MXN fell 0.24% to 20.1757.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 98.68.
