Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.09% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aalberts Industries (AMS:AALB), which rose 4.42% or 1.25 points to trade at 29.67 at the close. Meanwhile, Unibail Rodamco SE (AMS:UNBP) added 2.28% or 5.45 points to end at 244.00 and Randstad (AMS:RAND) was up 1.70% or 1.03 points to 61.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aegon (AMS:AEGN), which fell 7.51% or 0.499 points to trade at 6.144 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) declined 1.84% or 0.15 points to end at 7.97 and NN Group (AMS:NN) was down 1.09% or 0.32 points to 28.57.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 144 to 67 and 5 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.14% to 21.85.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.56% or 1.11 to $42.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.36% or 0.68 to hit $49.50 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.70% or 7.90 to trade at $1115.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1136, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.7140.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 96.51.
