Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Consumer Staples and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 1.93%, while the ADX General index declined 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD), which rose 2.26% or 0.150 points to trade at 6.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) added 0.20% or 0.010 points to end at 5.100 and Dubai National Insurance (DU:DNIN) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 2.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM), which fell 5.41% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.050 at the close. Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) declined 4.96% or 0.060 points to end at 1.150 and Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR) was down 4.92% or 0.021 points to 0.406.
The top performers on the ADX General were Nat Bk Qaiwain (AD:NBQ) which rose 11.11% to 3.30, Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which was up 3.26% to settle at 5.38 and Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which gained 1.69% to close at 3.00.
The worst performers were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 6.90% to 2.70 in late trade, Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which lost 6.59% to settle at 0.85 and Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 5.45% to 5.20 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 24 to 3 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 18 fell and 5 advanced.
Shares in Dubai National Insurance (DU:DNIN) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 to 2.250.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 3.12% or 1.00 to $31.18 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 2.48% or 0.81 to hit $32.02 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.78% or 8.60 to trade at $1104.90 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.02% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.18% to 3.9722.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 99.51.
