Meeka Metals targets shallow, high-grade gold from high-impact drilling at Murchison

Meeka Metals Ltd (ASX:MEK) has resumed drilling operations with a high impact drill program, targeting shallow, high-grade gold mineralisation within the Fairway shear zone, situated in the Murchison Gold Project in Western Australia.

The 25-kilometre-long Fairway shear zone is an economically important zone of shearing and high strain within the Archean Gnaweeda greenstone belt, which already hosts 700,000 ounces at Turnberry.

Meeka's independent technical consultants have advised of a short delay delivering the initial St Anne’s mineral resource, which will now be released in April 2023.

Looking ahead, the pre-feasibility study remains on track for delivery in the June 2023 quarter and will include the St Anne’s mineral resource.

Strong coincident gold-arsenic anomalies

Meeka managing director Tim Davidson said: “This program will target areas where ineffective broad spaced historical RAB and aircore drilling intersected strong coincident gold-arsenic anomalies but were not followed up.

“This approach proved highly successful in 2022 when we targeted goldarsenic anomalism at St Anne’s and discovered extensive, shallow, high-grade gold.

“We are looking to build on that success and add further high value ounces to our mineral resource.

“First assays from this drilling are expected in May 2023.”
