Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.64% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 7.31% or 0.6850 points to trade at 10.0500 at the close. Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) added 2.01% or 0.56 points to end at 28.45 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was up 1.66% or 0.180 points to 11.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Amer Sports Corporation (HE:AMEAS), which lost 0.98% or 0.22 points to trade at 22.25 in late trade. Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) declined 0.88% or 0.23 points to end at 25.96 and YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) shed 0.60% or 0.04 points to 6.68.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 82 to 53 and 18 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was up 1.10% or 0.56 to $51.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.51% or 0.72 to hit $48.44 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.85 to trade at $1200.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.0636, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8711.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 101.33.
