Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.63% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Atlantia (MI:ATL), which rose 5.68% or 1.04 points to trade at 19.34 at the close. CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) added 1.15% or 0.115 points to end at 10.120 and Mediaset SpA (MI:MS) was up 0.95% or 0.025 points to 2.656 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI), which lost 3.53% or 0.1150 points to trade at 3.1470 in late trade. Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) declined 3.33% or 0.1520 points to end at 4.4060 and Banco Bpm SpA (MI:BAMI) shed 2.95% or 0.062 points to 2.037.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 230 to 104 and 29 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.40% or 0.26 to $65.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.34% or 0.24 to hit $71.67 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1185.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1412, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.8962.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 96.16.
