Investing.com – India equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Consumer Durables and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 0.51%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd. (NS:APLH), which rose 5.34% or 261.00 points to trade at 5,148.00 at the close. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS:APSE) added 2.67% or 20.70 points to end at 795.00 and Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:EICH) was up 2.63% or 87.75 points to 3,426.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS), which lost 2.83% or 44.60 points to trade at 1,531.00 in late trade. Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:REDY) declined 1.25% or 66.50 points to end at 5,272.00 and SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:SBIL) shed 1.08% or 14.55 points to 1,328.95.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Titan Company Ltd (BO:TITN) which rose 2.23% to 3,272.55, LTIMindtree Ltd (BO:LTIM) which was up 2.21% to settle at 5,132.30 and ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:ICBK) which gained 1.54% to close at 933.45.
The worst performers were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:BJFS) which was down 2.37% to 1,538.30 in late trade, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:REDY) which lost 1.11% to settle at 5,275.20 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which was down 0.78% to 1,449.55 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1338 to 731 and 54 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2185 rose and 1371 declined, while 127 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.74% to 10.88.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.07% or 1.35 to $1,994.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $82.46 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.10 to trade at $86.75 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.04% to 83.28, while EUR/INR rose 0.25% to 88.64.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 105.80.
