Flynn Gold Ltd (ASX:FG1)'s CEO Neil Marston sat down with Proactive’s Andrew Scott upon kicking off a diamond drill program at the company's Warrentina Gold Project in Northeast Tasmania.

"It's a project which lies within what is referred to as the golden corridor in northeast Tasmania."

"This is highly prospective for orogenic and epithermal gold mineralisation," Marston said.

According to Marston, historic mining work in a largely six-kilometre corridor has revealed substantial gold mineralisation near the surface.

Previous drilling by Greatland Gold demonstrated significant shallow results, including 21.7 metres at 3.3 grams per tonne from just nine metres depth.

"We've done some interpretation work and believe that mineralisation is in steeply dipping veins to the east," Marston explained.

The drilling strategy has thus been adapted to crosscut these veins for better analysis.

Impressive results at Trafalgar

This initiative comes on the heels of recent drilling at the Trafalgar prospect at Golden Ridge, which yielded impressive results such as four metres at 23.7 grams per tonne from 23 metres depth.

Marston added that the core samples are in the lab and that they should be able to report the full results by the end of the month.

Forward plan

In terms of forthcoming developments, Marston anticipates multiple updates. "We'll have an update on the Trafalgar drilling over the next two weeks... and obviously, the work we're doing at "Warrentina.

"We've also got some plans to go and do some drilling in some other areas," he added

Flynn Gold acquired the Warrentina from Greatland Gold in June and has since been active in what appears to be a highly lucrative gold belt.

The project is part of a broader portfolio of activities that the company is pursuing through to the year-end.
