Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.58% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which rose 1.71% or 0.90 points to trade at 53.40 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 1.43% or 0.14 points to end at 9.90 and CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) was up 0.77% or 0.21 points to 27.61 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP), which lost 6.75% or 0.31 points to trade at 4.28 in late trade. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 5.71% or 2.95 points to end at 48.70 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) shed 4.00% or 6.90 points to 165.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 292 to 180 and 183 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.03% or 0.48 to $47.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.71% or 0.34 to hit $48.30 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.69% or 9.35 to trade at $1368.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.00% to 4.4386, while USD/PLN fell 0.19% to 4.0042.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 96.23.
