Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Building & Construction and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which rose 0.96% or 0.250 points to trade at 26.340 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) added 0.62% or 0.185 points to end at 30.140 and Inditex (MC:ITX) was up 0.59% or 0.170 points to 29.180 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bankia SA (MC:BKIA), which lost 4.31% or 0.189 points to trade at 4.200 in late trade. Endesa (MC:ELE) declined 3.23% or 0.605 points to end at 18.150 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) shed 3.07% or 0.710 points to 22.390.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 114 to 71 and 14 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.92% or 12.50 to $1339.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.00% or 0.66 to hit $65.48 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.47% or 1.03 to trade at $69.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.2358, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.8796.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 89.33.
