Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 1.60% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 0.69% or 0.090 points to trade at 13.130 at the close. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) added 0.59% or 0.032 points to end at 5.426 and Ferrovial (MC:FER) was up 0.03% or 0.005 points to 18.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Acerinox (MC:ACX), which lost 4.50% or 0.505 points to trade at 10.710 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) declined 4.45% or 1.020 points to end at 21.910 and Telefonica (MC:TEF) shed 2.74% or 0.259 points to 9.195.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 137 to 31 and 22 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.20% or 2.60 to $1292.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.16% or 0.08 to hit $48.51 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.15% or 0.08 to trade at $51.82 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1812, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.9082.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 93.03.
