Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Technology and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 2.38%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep (AMS:ING), which rose 4.43% or 0.620 points to trade at 14.610 at the close. Meanwhile, ASML Holding (AMS:ASML) added 3.54% or 3.13 points to end at 91.54 and Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) was up 3.18% or 6.90 points to 224.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TNT Express (AMS:TNTE), which rose 0.07% or 0.005 points to trade at 7.672 at the close. Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) added 0.53% or 0.04 points to end at 8.17 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) was up 0.60% or 0.15 points to 25.23.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 185 to 23 and 5 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.11% to 27.64.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.71% or 1.40 to $53.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 3.44% or 1.97 to hit $59.02 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.31% or 3.60 to trade at $1159.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.1015, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.7170.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 96.79.
