Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Textile and Computers & Peripherals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.79% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Orise Tech (TW:3545), which rose 9.86% or 3.15 points to trade at 35.10 at the close. Epileds Tech (TW:4956) added 8.70% or 2.00 points to end at 25.00 and Pelican (TW:2642) was up 5.22% or 1.30 points to 26.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Enterex International Ltd (TW:1592), which lost 9.96% or 4.65 points to trade at 42.05 in late trade. Coadna (TW:4984) declined 9.65% or 5.50 points to end at 51.50 and RichWave Technology Corp (TW:4968) shed 8.33% or 4.60 points to 50.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 582 to 167 and 116 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.93% or 0.42 to $45.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.15% or 0.54 to hit $47.40 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.45% or 5.95 to trade at $1302.25 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.25% to 31.479, while TWD/CNY rose 0.23% to 0.2153.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 97.16.
