Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Trading, Palm Oil and Diversified Holdings sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 1.27% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which rose 12.50% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.90 at the close. Chemanex PLC (CM:CHMX) added 10.63% or 6.20 points to end at 64.50 and F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE) was up 9.09% or 0.10 points to 1.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which lost 23.08% or 600.10 points to trade at 2000.00 in late trade. Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) declined 19.77% or 418.80 points to end at 1700.00 and Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) shed 16.67% or 0.100 points to 0.500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 158 to 36 and 30 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.30% or 0.44 to $34.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.74% or 0.27 to hit $36.84 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.53% or 6.50 to trade at $1240.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.62% to 201.440, while USD/LKR rose 0.15% to 144.685.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 98.25.
