Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LS:SEM), which rose 5.14% or 0.6350 points to trade at 13.0000 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) added 2.79% or 0.0290 points to end at 1.0670 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 1.25% or 0.0130 points to 1.0550 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were REN (LS:RENE), which fell 1.20% or 0.0340 points to trade at 2.8000 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 1.18% or 0.0200 points to end at 1.6800 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was down 1.11% or 0.1400 points to 12.4200.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 25 to 25 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) fell to 3-years lows; down 1.18% or 0.0200 to 1.6800.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 1.52% or 0.47 to $30.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.23% or 0.07 to hit $30.51 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.55% or 6.00 to trade at $1091.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.0853, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.7510.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 99.10.
