Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Insurance and Household sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 2.16%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which rose 9.56% or 0.04 points to trade at 0.49 at the close. Meanwhile, Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) added 6.87% or 0.09 points to end at 1.40 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 6.00% or 0.015 points to 0.265 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which fell 13.04% or 0.15 points to trade at 1.00 at the close. Iaso (AT:IASr) declined 7.52% or 0.037 points to end at 0.455 and Kleeman Hellas (AT:KLEr) was down 5.88% or 0.09 points to 1.44.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 61 to 35 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.67% or 7.30 to $1088.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 2.71% or 0.85 to hit $30.56 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 2.13% or 0.68 to trade at $31.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.0838, while EUR/GBP rose 0.91% to 0.7534.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 99.19.
