Dr Marcus Thompson AM, PhD, has joined archTIS Ltd as a non-executive director.
The company will draw on the retired Major General’s 34 years of distinguished service in the Australian Army as well as his credentials in Cyber Security for which he has a PhD from the University of New South Wales, electrical engineering, business, defence studies and strategic studies.

His distinguished career in the Australian Army and extensive industry and corporate experience are assets to the board as we continue to pursue rapid global growth opportunities for our portfolio of innovative, security software solutions,” archTIS chairman Dr Miles Jakeman said.
Cyber advisor
Dr Thompson graduated from the Royal Military College in 1988 and has held several high-profile roles, including command of the 3rd Combat Signal Regiment, senior advisor Defence Policy and Operations within the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and inaugural head of Information Warfare for the Australian Defence Force.
Since leaving the Army, Dr Thompson established Cyber Compass Pty Ltd, an advisory firm focused on enhancing cyber security and sovereign Australian capabilities.
He currently serves as a non-executive director for Penten, Bank Australia and Data Action (WA:ACT), providing strategic insights across various sectors.
