6 big dividends: Dick's more than doubles its payout| Pro Recap

Dick's more than doubles its dividend

Dick's Sporting Goods' (NYSE:DKS) quarterly dividend rocketed 105.1% last week to $1 per share, or a 3% annual yield. The dividend will be payable on March 31, 2023, to stockholders of record on March 17, 2023, with an ex-dividend date of March 16, 2023.

The company also said it earned $2.93 per share for Q4, $0.04 better than the average analyst estimate, while also beating on the top line, causing shares to spike higher.

Following the beat and share surge, a parade of analysts raised their price targets on the shares, including to $148 from $125 at JPMorgan and to $163 from $142 at Goldman Sachs.

The stock was up more than 10% for the week.

Oracle's massive hike

Oracle (NYSE:ORCL) ratcheted up its quarterly dividend by 25% to $0.40, for an annual yield of 1.8%. The dividend will be payable on April 24, 2023, to stockholders of record on April 11, 2023, with an ex-dividend date of April 10, 2023.

The company also topped fiscal Q3 profit expectations by a penny per share last week, while slightly missing on revenue. Guggenheim called the report "impressive," reiterating its Buy rating and Best Idea designation for the stock, but shares slid on the news and Societe Generale cut the stock's rating to Hold from Buy.

Mizuho said investors "may be underestimating Oracle’s potential over the medium-term to generate solid top-line and cash flow growth, and exceed its FY26 targets."

The stock lost 6% for the week.

Build-A-Bear's jumbo special dividend

Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc (NYSE:BBW) declared a special dividend of $1.50 per share, for a 7.3% annual yield. The dividend will be payable on April 6, 2023, to stockholders of record on March 23, 2023, with an ex-dividend date of March 22, 2023.

Also last week, the company smashed Q4 earnings expectations by $0.18 per share, and beat on sales as well, triggering a surge in its shares.

All in all, the stock climbed 16.6% for the week.

Another trio of dividend hikes

American Express (NYSE:AXP) hiked its quarterly dividend by 15.4% to $0.60 per share, for an annual yield of 1.4%. The dividend will be payable on May 10, 2023, to stockholders of record on April 7, 2023, with an ex-dividend date of April 5, 2023.

Travel + Leisure Co (NYSE:TNL) raised its quarterly dividend by 12.5% to $0.45 per share, for an annual yield of 4.2%. The dividend will be payable on March 31, 2023, to stockholders of record on March 15, 2023, with an ex-dividend date of March 14, 2023.

Vail Resorts (NYSE: NYSE:MTN) hiked its quarterly dividend by 7.9% to $2.06 per share, for an annual yield of 3.6%. The dividend will be payable on April 11, 2023, to stockholders of record on March 27, 2023, with an ex-dividend date of March 24, 2023.
