Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Food & Beverages and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Media, Technology and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.11%, while the MDAX index gained 0.18%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG NA O.N. (DE:ADSGN), which rose 1.31% or 1.900 points to trade at 147.350 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) added 1.26% or 0.190 points to end at 15.220 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) was up 1.22% or 0.265 points to 21.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn), which lost 2.20% or 0.78 points to trade at 34.62 in late trade. Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) declined 1.63% or 0.107 points to end at 6.448 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) shed 0.84% or 0.125 points to 14.800.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which rose 2.27% to 48.610, Salzgitter AG (DE:SZGG) which was up 1.88% to settle at 28.785 and Airbus Group SE (F:AIRG) which gained 1.82% to close at 53.816.
The worst performers were Kuka AG (DE:KU2G) which was down 2.82% to 94.750 in late trade, CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which lost 2.55% to settle at 30.785 and Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which was down 0.82% to 42.720 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 2.14% to 19.605, Slm Solution G (DE:AM3D) which was up 1.68% to settle at 27.80 and Adva Optical Networking SE (DE:ADAG) which gained 1.55% to close at 8.006.
The worst performers were STRATEC Biomedical AG (DE:SBSG) which was down 1.66% to 55.000 in late trade, Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which lost 1.39% to settle at 30.805 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 1.31% to 45.260 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 514 to 363 and 27 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.20% to 17.91.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.22% or 2.90 to $1331.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.29% or 1.01 to hit $45.16 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.49% or 0.70 to trade at $47.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1151, while EUR/GBP fell 0.29% to 0.8376.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 95.75.
