Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 6.87% or 0.328 points to trade at 5.104 at the close. Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) added 1.87% or 2.30 points to end at 125.25 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) was up 1.79% or 0.040 points to 2.279 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BBVA (MC:BBVA), which lost 6.78% or 0.457 points to trade at 6.283 in late trade. Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) declined 3.02% or 0.085 points to end at 2.726 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) shed 1.94% or 0.205 points to 10.365.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 98 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 1.20% or 14.95 to $1265.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.73% or 0.33 to hit $45.66 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.89% or 0.42 to trade at $47.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1332, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.7765.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.52% at 93.89.
