Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.44%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Tata Power Co. Ltd (NS:TTPW), which rose 3.54% or 2.35 points to trade at 68.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Tata Motors Ltd . (NS:TAMO) added 2.85% or 9.80 points to end at 353.35 and POWER GRID CORPORATION OF INDIA (NS:PGRD) was up 2.57% or 3.55 points to 141.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cipla Ltd. (NS:CIPL), which fell 2.37% or 15.10 points to trade at 622.35 at the close. Larsen & Toubro Limited (NS:LART) declined 2.26% or 27.30 points to end at 1179.10 and Bajaj Auto Limited (NS:BAJA) was down 1.79% or 43.40 points to 2375.85.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Power Co. Ltd (BO:TTPW) which rose 3.70% to 68.65, Tata Motors Ltd. (BO:TAMO) which was up 2.99% to settle at 353.45 and TATA STEEL LIMITED (BO:TISC) which gained 1.44% to close at 253.70.
The worst performers were Cipla Ltd. (BO:CIPL) which was down 2.61% to 622.45 in late trade, Larsen & Toubro Limited (BO:LART) which lost 2.19% to settle at 1179.85 and Bajaj Auto Limited (BO:BAJA) which was down 1.75% to 2376.85 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1154 to 313 and 10 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 608 rose and 202 declined, while 11 ended unchanged.

The India Vix, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 6.13% to 17.7975.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.98% or 10.90 to $1096.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.41% or 0.14 to hit $33.41 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.71% or 0.24 to trade at $33.99 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.34% to 66.691, while EUR/INR fell 0.84% to 72.4850.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 98.81.
