Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Chemicals and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.01%, while the MDAX index added 0.42%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which rose 6.39% or 0.695 points to trade at 11.570 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) added 4.37% or 0.665 points to end at 15.880 and BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) was up 2.35% or 1.750 points to 76.110 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn), which lost 2.54% or 1.810 points to trade at 69.470 in late trade. Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) declined 1.21% or 0.070 points to end at 5.738 and E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) shed 0.36% or 0.023 points to 6.314.
The top performers on the MDAX were Covestro AG (DE:1COV) which rose 2.79% to 52.630, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was up 2.27% to settle at 16.885 and Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which gained 2.27% to close at 32.420.
The worst performers were Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which was down 2.58% to 38.680 in late trade, Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which lost 1.35% to settle at 61.960 and Steinhoff International Holdings NV (DE:SNHG) which was down 1.29% to 5.11 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which rose 4.32% to 34.315, STRATEC Biomedical AG (DE:SBSG) which was up 4.05% to settle at 51.300 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which gained 3.97% to close at 43.215.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 0.73% to 28.390 in late trade, Slm Solution G (DE:AM3D) which lost 0.59% to settle at 42.12 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 0.49% to 23.515 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 477 to 403 and 20 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.52% to 18.84.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.34% or 4.50 to $1321.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.46% or 0.22 to hit $48.05 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.36% or 0.18 to trade at $49.99 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1232, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8643.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 95.36.
