Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.73% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESL), which rose 4.41% or 0.450 points to trade at 10.650 at the close. Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) added 4.33% or 4.120 points to end at 99.290 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) was up 3.89% or 0.870 points to 23.260 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which lost 2.36% or 0.55 points to trade at 22.74 in late trade. Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) declined 1.57% or 4.550 points to end at 284.800 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) shed 1.48% or 3.780 points to 251.720.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 55 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.28% or 3.50 to $1261.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 4.14% or 1.43 to hit $36.00 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 4.48% or 1.66 to trade at $38.73 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.70% to 17.7944, while EUR/MXN fell 0.38% to 19.5642.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 97.37.
