Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Property, Industrials and Banking & Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Jollibee Foods (PS:JFC), which rose 4.46% or 9.400 points to trade at 220.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Ayala Land (PS:ALI) added 3.04% or 1.050 points to end at 35.600 and First Gen (PS:FGEN) was up 2.70% or 0.60 points to 22.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which fell 2.03% or 0.090 points to trade at 4.350 at the close. Aboitiz Power (PS:AP) declined 1.85% or 0.75 points to end at 39.75 and Metro Pacifi I (PS:MPI) was down 1.50% or 0.080 points to 5.250.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 93 to 74 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.03% or 0.090 to 4.350.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.64% or 6.80 to $1071.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.18% or 0.42 to hit $35.63 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.51% or 0.56 to trade at $36.10 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.03% to 7.2919, while USD/PHP fell 0.01% to 47.270.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 98.79.
