Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Sports, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Cimsa (IS:CIMSA), which rose 4.60% or 0.67 points to trade at 15.22 at the close. Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) added 4.49% or 0.23 points to end at 5.35 and Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL) was up 3.87% or 0.67 points to 17.98 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER), which lost 7.95% or 3.94 points to trade at 45.60 in late trade. Kordsa Global (IS:KORDS) declined 4.39% or 0.22 points to end at 4.79 and Arcelik (IS:ARCLK) shed 4.16% or 0.80 points to 18.42.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 202 to 131 and 79 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 1.48% or 18.30 to $1220.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.64% or 0.21 to hit $33.28 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.47% or 0.52 to trade at $35.81 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.75% to 2.9799, while EUR/TRY rose 0.98% to 3.2588.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.70% at 98.12.
