Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB), which rose 2.14% or 5.970 points to trade at 284.660 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) added 1.95% or 2.750 points to end at 143.880 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was up 1.99% or 0.820 points to 42.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which lost 4.53% or 0.490 points to trade at 10.320 in late trade. Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB) declined 3.75% or 2.090 points to end at 53.650 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) shed 2.78% or 0.810 points to 28.320.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 62 to 60 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.16% or 2.00 to $1237.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.40% or 0.77 to hit $32.92 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.86% or 0.64 to trade at $35.05 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.43% to 18.1381, while EUR/MXN fell 0.21% to 20.0160.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 97.33.
