Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Financial Services and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.80% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which rose 1.47% or 0.600 points to trade at 41.380 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 0.91% or 0.160 points to end at 17.730 and Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) was up 1.29% or 0.030 points to 2.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB), which lost 5.18% or 1.800 points to trade at 32.970 in late trade. Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESL) declined 3.20% or 0.390 points to end at 11.810 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) shed 2.94% or 0.340 points to 11.230.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 122 to 63 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.15% or 1.95 to $1288.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.72% or 0.35 to hit $48.53 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.15% or 0.58 to trade at $49.77 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.51% to 18.9332, while EUR/MXN fell 0.26% to 21.2220.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.65% at 95.03.
