Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Machinery, Oil, Gas & Electricity and Cement sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.31% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Aoc (TW:6289), which rose 10.00% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Global Unichip (TW:3443) added 10.00% or 6.10 points to end at 67.10 and Genesis Photon (TW:3383) was up 9.94% or 0.83 points to 9.18 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Largan Precisi (TW:3008), which fell 5.22% or 135.00 points to trade at 2450.00 at the close. Masterlink Sec (TW:2856) declined 4.54% or 0.44 points to end at 9.26 and Bestec Power (TW:3308) was down 4.48% or 0.39 points to 8.32.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 476 to 361 and 1 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.53% or 0.26 to $47.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.54% or 0.27 to hit $50.19 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.95% or 11.20 to trade at $1171.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.34% to 32.331, while TWD/CNY rose 0.30% to 0.1976.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 94.66.
