Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Travel & Leisure, Technology and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.61%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:BPEm), which rose 2.50% or 0.160 points to trade at 6.550 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) added 1.80% or 0.0170 points to end at 0.9625 and ENI (MI:ENI) was up 1.40% or 0.1800 points to 13.0100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which fell 7.94% or 0.5900 points to trade at 6.8400 at the close. Exor (MI:EXOR) declined 7.36% or 2.69 points to end at 33.85 and Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) was down 4.62% or 1.85 points to 38.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 355 to 75 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.94% or 0.5900 to 6.8400. Shares in Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) fell to all time lows; down 4.62% or 1.85 to 38.20.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 2.69% or 0.82 to $31.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 1.64% or 0.49 to hit $30.68 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.88% or 9.60 to trade at $1077.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.0861, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.7542.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 99.17.
