Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.57%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA (PA:LVMH), which rose 4.49% or 7.05 points to trade at 164.10 at the close. Kering SA (PA:PRTP) added 1.54% or 2.90 points to end at 190.95 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was up 0.72% or 0.066 points to 9.255 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP), which lost 3.78% or 0.52 points to trade at 13.10 in late trade. Safran SA (PA:SAF) declined 2.83% or 1.86 points to end at 63.83 and Airbus Group (PA:AIR) shed 2.39% or 1.30 points to 53.03.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA (PA:LVMH) which rose 4.49% to 164.10, GTT (PA:GTT) which was up 3.73% to settle at 27.98 and Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which gained 2.44% to close at 4.904.
The worst performers were Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) which was down 3.78% to 13.10 in late trade, Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which lost 3.50% to settle at 32.230 and Numericable SFR SA (PA:SFRGR) which was down 3.41% to 23.820 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 435 to 248 and 105 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 2.65% to 19.18.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.14% or 1.80 to $1258.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.13% or 0.58 to hit $50.77 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.30% or 0.69 to trade at $52.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.1059, while EUR/GBP rose 0.58% to 0.9059.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.67% at 97.56.
