Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Developers sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which rose 2.30% or 0.23 points to trade at 10.23 at the close. PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) added 2.29% or 0.29 points to end at 12.93 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 1.83% or 3.05 points to 169.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which lost 7.76% or 1.18 points to trade at 14.02 in late trade. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) declined 3.57% or 2.67 points to end at 72.18 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) shed 2.30% or 0.16 points to 6.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 285 to 208 and 183 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.59% or 0.29 to $49.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.72% or 0.36 to hit $50.31 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.76% or 9.20 to trade at $1207.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.24% to 4.3975, while USD/PLN rose 0.02% to 3.9486.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 95.72.
