Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Travel & Leisure and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.25% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem (MI:SPMI), which rose 1.76% or 0.1300 points to trade at 7.5100 at the close. Meanwhile, Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 1.29% or 0.1400 points to end at 10.9900 and Enel (MI:ENEI) was up 0.95% or 0.0380 points to 4.0260 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset (MI:MS), which fell 3.04% or 0.120 points to trade at 3.830 at the close. Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MI:PMII) declined 2.38% or 0.0215 points to end at 0.8800 and Campari (MI:CPRI) was down 1.92% or 0.15 points to 7.91.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 262 to 161 and 9 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.99% or 0.37 to $37.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.01% or 0.41 to hit $39.85 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.15% or 1.60 to trade at $1073.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.86% to 1.0985, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.7247.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.78% at 97.64.
