Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.54% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE), which rose 7.14% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.450 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 5.08% or 0.015 points to end at 0.310 and Panoro (LM:PML) was up 4.55% or 0.005 points to 0.115 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sider (LM:SID), which lost 3.33% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.145 in late trade. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) declined 3.06% or 0.012 points to end at 0.380 and Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) shed 2.24% or 0.060 points to 2.620.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 7 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 2.64% or 0.85 to $33.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 2.03% or 0.70 to hit $35.11 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.35% or 4.30 to trade at $1234.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.07% to 3.5280, while EUR/PEN rose 0.98% to 3.9080.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 97.41.
