Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 3.32%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 6.42% or 0.1800 points to trade at 2.9840 at the close. Meanwhile, Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V) added 5.36% or 1.07 points to end at 21.02 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was up 5.31% or 0.380 points to 7.530 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V), which rose 0.85% or 0.10 points to trade at 11.88 at the close. Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV) added 1.05% or 0.37 points to end at 35.76 and Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) was up 1.99% or 0.58 points to 29.68.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 165 to 17 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for April delivery was up 7.13% or 2.29 to $34.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 6.13% or 1.78 to hit $30.82 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1208.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1141, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.7787.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 96.80.
